9 Coffee with God – Day 9
Prayer: Lord, I plead for the society in which we are immersed. Free me and my children from the power materialism, consumerism and immorality have to mould the character and influence the decisions of my children. Make me sensitive to these pressures and give me wisdom to recognize them and fight against them.
Promise: His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1: 3 – 4.
Reflection: In what way can we counteract the subtle and powerful values that our society bombards us with daily? What does God call us to?
